Bottom Line Up Front:

Take the original mid-sized Razor E200 and add a convenient seat and you’ve got the E200S.

Want the original standing scooter experience? No problem, the seat is completely removable.

It isn’t too big for many first-time riders yet still offers enough performance and size that they won’t outgrow it too quickly.

For some, the E200S could be the perfect first scooter if they’re ready. Others may find it a little too small and just pay the small premium to step up to the full-sized E300 or E300S. You probably won’t go wrong either way. For those for whom the E200 is the right size and choice, the E200S offers the same value plus a seat for only about $15 more.

Razor E200S Electric Scooter Review

Just like the E200, the E200S is Razor’s mid-level electric scooter, sandwiched by the smaller E100 and the larger E300. The E200/E200S is about $50 less than the E300, depending on who’s on sale that day, and about $70 more than the E100, again give or take. Similarly, it’s a few mph faster than little brother, a few slower than big brother. It can carry a slightly heavier rider than the E100, but can’t really handle the larger riders over 150 lbs or so that can ride the E300 with ease.

You can probably see the pattern here. With 8 inch tires in both front and back and a generously-sized deck and frame, it’s more like a scaled-down E300 than an upscaled E100. All in all, that’s pretty good. It goes fast but not too fast to be truly dangerous. If a kid can handle a bike, they can probably handle this or other electric scooters.

With a larger deck, frame, and tires, the E200S can handle riders up to younger teens, while still being suitable for younger riders that are ready. But make no mistake – this has the speed and size to possibly get away from very inexperienced or small riders. As always, use your judgment and wear all safety gear, just to be safe.

This model includes 8 inch pneumatic tires in both front and back, unlike the E100 which has a polyurethane drive wheel. Given the extra 30 lbs or so in rated capacity, that’s a good thing – though admittedly both models will struggle a bit if you get too close to the limits.

Also, just like the E300, with this model you don’t need to push off to engage the motor. Once you turn the power switch on, just twist the throttle and go.

All in all, the E200S is a durable, mid-ranged scooter with the added convenience of a removable seat that will provide you with speedy performance in a sturdy package. If you don’t see the desire to upgrade to the full-sized E300 anytime soon, then you could save a few dollars and still get a full-featured scooter in the E200S. Similarly, if your rider can handle a little bit more speed and size than the E100, then the E200S may be a good first choice as well.

One issue that came up for a few users was the ground clearance for heavier riders on bumpy terrain. It’s not as low as the E100, but the solid rear wheel of the E100 and the smaller riders that usually use it make it less of an issue on that model. With the E200/E200S, riders too close to the weight limit may have the motor scrape the ground on some bumps. Not likely a huge issue, but something to think about if you’re torn between the E300 and this.

Things that are great about it:
  • Very good performance, reliable Razor quality
  • Convenient, removable seat for only a modest $15 or so extra cost
  • Ability to handle larger riders than E100 but still ok for many younger riders
  • Full-sized frame, full-sized tires both front and back
  • Eco-friendly electric power on the wildly popular and proven Razor scooter
  • Adjustable handlebar to accommodate a wide range of riders
  • Pretty good battery power
Things that could be better:
  • Size may still be too big for very small riders
  • Larger riders may have a little bit of an issue with ground clearance on bumps

Owners like the convenience of having both a seated and standing scooter in one

“S Dubya” appreciated the option of the seat and the larger size of the E200S…

I had my doubts about this scooter since it was so reasonably priced, but so far it has been a great ride. I got it for my 8 year old son to play around with on the sidewalks but discovered that it is fun for me too! My son’s friend got the next level down in scooters, the E100 I think, and his is much slower. Plus he does not have the option of the seat. With the E200S, you can decide to use the seat or go without it, and my son chose to use it. He loves his scooter, and it was definitely a good buy.

Seat makes the ride much more comfortable.
It has good weighted balance when riding.
Surprisingly good battery life.
Good price, below most other sellers

Conclusion:

The Razor E200S builds on the success of the E200 with a convenient padded seat that easily removes when desired. It is a full-sized scooter that is approachable enough for many younger riders while still offering decent performance and challenge for older riders that aren’t too big yet. It doesn’t have quite the performance and size of the E300 but for many riders, that’s ok.

Some may find this a bit too much and be perfectly happy with the E100. Others, again, may be happier with the larger E300. But for quite a few riders, the E200S is the just right choice.
